Hi Jason,

It wasn't a slight against anyone on NANOG. It was more to the point that I am
surprised by my statement, that no other provider out there came to rescue of
these poor customers that have to find another solution in a hurry.

I'm sorry you didn't see my statement for what it was. A comment. I'm sure I'm
not the only one to have thought that. I've seen a lot of customers of companies
going out of...

Wow, sorry to hear they couldn't even be bothered to notify you but glad you got some confirmation here. I would
definitely assume you're on borrowed time and get another vendor ASAP if you don't already have a secondary link in
place.

The only other thing I was able to find online is a LinkedIn post about a (now former) employee of Allied/Lightcore

Former Level & Genuity Authoritative DNS IP Addresses Decomissioned nanog--- via NANOG (Nov 07)
Some monitoring checks I had to test for PTR failures started alerting yesterday. Apparently Lumen has updated some
very longstanding DNS infrastructure to decommission the following.

At first glance, I thought this was the Lightcore that CenturyTel had years ago.

Wow, everyone, what's with the hate on NANOG these days?

Todd said, basically "I got an email saying Litecore is shutting down. This
is surprising, does anyone know what's up?!".

They did not:

1. Say: "OMG! I run a multi-billion dollar business and it's
completely going
out of business because I only have a single provider and didn't plan
ahead…"
2. demand that NANOG solve their problem or...

This.

If you liked it, you should have put vendor (and path,
space, and equipment) diversity on it.

If it's critical to your business, fund and act like it.
Otherwise, sure, you can save some bucks, but eventually the
inevitable comes knocking.

My company is with Lightcore MetroNet in DC and we have not received this notice, though we called support yesterday
and were told something similar verbally. We asked for written notice and have not received it. We have reached out to
our company contacts as we signed our contract with them in February of this year, but cannot reach any of them.

At this point, we are assuming we are on borrowed time and trying to find a new ISP asap for this...

Shon

Im not sure what your expectations of the NANOG community would be. You simply provided notice of an operator going out
of business for everyone to be aware of, but were you or your organization affected by this? Did you intend to have an
ask of the community to take action on? Most customers would surely have the ability to pivot or have alternative means
of connectivity and have begun to take immediate action on their own accord.
